IRELAND
I am a great fan of Paul Caponigro, a renowned photographer and a contemporary of Ansel Adams and Minor White. Caponigro’s ability to capture the weave of photography and spirituality was grounded in a firm grasp of every aspect of his craft. He felt that only after attaining mastery could one be open to the, “imperceptible forces at work behind a scene.” Long before the mindfulness movement he had the ability to see/feel the sacred and transcendent moments in ordinary time. Caponigro visited Ireland in the 60’s and produced a beautiful portfolio. One that affected me and has informed my approach to photography. This series is an homage to him.
